Energency First Response Course Success

On 23rd February 2010, the Adult and Vocational Education Service presented 47 certificates to participants who completed and passed the Emergency First Response course. This certification will allow these people to be an emergency first responder for 2 years. When the 2 year certification expires, each participant will need to participate in a renewal/refresher course to renew their certification for another 2 years.

Emergency First Response covers three main areas; Care of the child, Primary Care and Secondary Care. They are not doctors or nurses but they follow the same techniques in the case of an emergency.

The participants varied in employment such as, the medical laboratory, Dental nurses, Customs officers, school secretaries and auxiliary workers, Energy Division of PWSD, Fire department, Police, ANRD and Cable & Wireless workers. Congratulations are extended to all participants for achieving this certification.
